Texas City Lodge Hosts Cornerstone Ceremony

On November 10, 1999, the Grand Lodge of Texas leveled the cornerstone of the new Convention Center in Texas City. Deputy Grand Master Vernon Burke, Jr. presided at the event. Other Grand Lodge Officers present were R:W: Mike Nanny, Grand Junior Warden; R:W: Arvol Willingham, Grand Treasurer; W: N. A. Rhodes, Grand Senior Stewart; and District Deputy Grand Master, Joe Musick. Approximately one hundred attended the ceremony including many visiting Brethren from other lodges in the 31st Masonic District. Mayor Chuck Doyle, Mayor Pro Tem Larry Edrozo, and Commissioner Carlos Garza were in attendance along with other City officials.
